This Montegut House wedding is an all-time favorite! St. John went to Tulane for his undergraduate degree, and fell in love with New Orleans. After introducing Kelly to the city, they both knew this was the place for them to tie the knot! Kelly, being a very detailed and organized person, made sure everything from the floral decor to the welcome bags was cohesive and perfectly designed to represent their sense of style and hospitality for their guests.
Kelly and St. John were both quite involved in the planning process. When they reached out to our team, they’d had a good start on the planning process already. Our event management services were the perfect solution for their needs, allowing them access to our team of event producers for advice and consulting throughout the planning process on an as-needed basis. Kelly and St. John lived in New York, so having a team on the ground here in New Orleans for their destination wedding was critical. Our experience in routinely managing the challenges of communication across different time zones and managing details for a full guest list with out of town guests is our specialty, and they appreciated having the support of experts in destination weddings to give them confidence that their wedding day would be a success. This Montegut House wedding celebration was certainly no different!
Kelly and St. John valued photography as a top priority for their wedding investment, and they brought in Austin Gros to capture all of their wedding day details. Our team sets aside time preparing for every event having a discussion with the hired photographer for the day. As was draft timeline details, we coordinate with the photo team whenever necessary so that we can be sure we are including ample time for the photographer to capture all of the necessary details, formal photos, and couples portraits in the best light. By setting aside time to communicate with our clients’ photographers in advance, we do our part to ensure that the end product is as good as it can possibly be for our clients.
The couple exchanged their vows in the gorgeous courtyard at the Pharmacy Museum and then took their guests on a traditional New Orleans second line parade to another quintessential New Orleans courtyard for the reception at the Maison Montegut House wedding. Here, she completed the look with chic vintage lounge seating vignettes, nestled under chandeliers and candle light décor hanging from the oldest magnolia tree in New Orleans. Upstairs, she tied in the southern magnolia theme by having magnolia leaf garlands on the banister overlooking the courtyard and on each fireplace inside the house.
Guests danced the night away in the upstairs dance floor, with a balcony overlooking famed Royal Street in the French Quarter. From a brass band leading the second line through the streets, to a live band based in New Orleans for the reception, Kelly and St. John wanted to make sure that guests came away from their wedding having a fun time, with great food, good music, and an authentic New Orleans experience. It’s safe to say that a good time was most certainly had by all!
