It’s a nice day for a wedding en blanc! And we don’t just mean the bride’s dress and the flowers. See what happened when this gorgeous couple invited all of their guests to wear white to their intimate and colorful (yes, colorful!) destination wedding in a New Orleans courtyard with so much character!
Maxcell and John are a California couple that selected us to plan their destination wedding in New Orleans. They were the most fun couple to get to know during the planning process, and their personalities absolutely take center stage everywhere they go! John had proposed in Hawaii on Maxcell’s birthday with a Chanel cake. We knew they were a perfect fit for the Sapphire Events family with their sense of style, unique perspective on life (Celebrate everything! Go big or go home!) and their daring design choices which were exciting challenges for us to deliver!
Maxcell and John wanted their celebration to have a maximum impact for their nearest and dearest friends and family members, so they opted to keep their guest list small. This intimate courtyard wedding in New Orleans was a perfect fit for the Maison Montegut House, featuring the oldest live oak tree in Louisiana, which set the stage for their wedding celebration.
Maxcell is a powerhouse when it comes to fashion. She had two (!!!) wedding dresses, one white traditional dress for the ceremony, and another black beaded long sleeve gown with the most decadent beaded detailing imaginable for the reception. The couple also had a specific vision for their guest attire and invited everyone to wear white to their fall soiree.
Everyone at the wedding celebration wearing white set the perfect canvas for Maxcell’s wardrobe change during the reception, and also guaranteed that the floral colors (lavender and fuschia blossoms everywhere) would have the impactful statement Maxcell and John were hoping for. This allowed for the design plan to have a huge impact with colorful, tropical flowers, lush verdant greenery, and rich details that culminated in a meaningful marriage ceremony and epic party.
Maxcell was beautifully bejeweled in Chanel pearls and gorgeous diamonds. She selected an amazing black beaded Giaia Lahav gown for the reception (and change into Louboutin pumps, Chanel cuff, and a crown to boot). We love that John complimented her look with a white dinner jacket and black lapel tux for the occasion!
